About
James Bianchi began his photography career as a freelance photographer, taking on a wide range of assignments that laid the foundation for his versatile skill set. He soon moved into assisting at weddings, where he honed his ability to tell stories through both images and video, while learning to work efficiently in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Building on this practical experience, James pursued formal studies in photography, earning a diploma and continuing his education at MCAST. After completing his studies, he worked as a press photographer with The Malta Independent before joining MaltaToday, where he has been part of the team for the past ten years and continues to work today.
Throughout his career, James has developed expertise across a broad spectrum of photographic and video work, including interiors, events, corporate conferences, birthday parties, food photography, engagements, and weddings.
In addition to his editorial and commercial work, James frequently collaborates with NGOs during assignments, using his photography and videography skills to help document and promote their initiatives alongside his professional projects.
His work captures significant moments in Malta’s contemporary life — from major news events to intimate personal celebrations — and is regularly published across local media platforms.
